Restoration started with the frame. New fuel and brake lines, all new/rebuilt suspension, rebuilt rear trailing arms, correct 15/16 F41 front sway bar, correct 7-leaf F41 rear spring, new Delco shocks, new body mounts, ect. Frame is very nicely detailed. frame was just washed for pics and looks to have pitting, it is just the water on the frame, the frame is nice and any pitting on the frame is minor
Before pics of engine as removed from car. Engine is the correct 3869942 cast IP coded orig correct dated 427, Now rebuilt, complete with correct 3885069 intake. Engine is .030 over, TRW forged pistons, balanced, arp rod bolts, new oil pump, valvetrain, gaskets, correct orig 3873858 heads, rebuilt w/new stainless valves, new guides, new springs, hardened seats, surfaced, 3 angle valve job, gasket matched and chambers cleaned up for use on today's fuel. ect. Engine has non orig carb (currently has a reed built holley), and it has new side pipe headers instead of manifolds. Block casting date B186, heads dated C166 and D26, intake dated 3-6-66. Engine runs very very strong.
car has its correct orig shifter and all 4-speed parts and rebuilt dated M21 transmission. Nice TI distributor, new clutch, correct drive shaft, both tops, new radiator, correct 66 master cylinder, booster, side pipe covers and spears, nice stainless, rechromed bumpers, new door handles, complete matching lock and keys, and lots and lots of little things, most all parts are correct dated parts for this car.
Car has a complete new int. includes, carpet, leather seat covers, headrests, door panels, dash pads, sill plates, screw kit, rear conv panels, top, visors, nice steering wheel, restored cluster
This car is an orig 427-425hp car, other known orig factory options are PS, PB, 2-tops, TI, 4-speed, sidepipes, tinted windshield, and posi. added options are headrests, am-fm and leather. orig color was silver w/black vinyl int.
Here are pics of the body mounted back on the frame w/all new mounts. Body was disassembled, body work done and finished in fresh red PPG concept urethane. Door, headlight, hood and rear hatch fits are excellent.
Pics of headlights, valance, hatch and wiper grills installed on the car. New white soft top installed, new weather-strips, windshield stainless polished and installed, all glass in car, dash installed, seats recovered, wiring harnesses installed. new gas tank and sender installed, nice spare tire tub, sidepipe covers and spears installed, engine compartment painted and being detailed for upcoming engine installation.
